New Deer Management Committee Created
As outlined in Franklin Township Resolution 2010-31, paragraph 16, and as recommended by the PA Game Commission in Guide to Deer Management in Developed Areas of Pennsylvania, a Deer Management Committee (DMC) has been established. The purpose of this committee, as outlined by the Resolution and by the Game Commiisssion, is to study if a deer problem exists in Franklin Township's preserves. If a problem is found to exist, the DMC will propose solutions to the Board Of Supervisors. The Committee will also manage hunting activities in Franklin Township's parks and preserves.
The Deer Management Committee is made up of four hunters and four nonhunters. A neutral chairperson serves as the DMC's leader. Also, residents of Franklin Township are given preference when appointments to the Committee are made.
